Martin guitars are internationally revered, collected and played by legions of legendary performers, singers and songwriters whose names are interwoven throughout American culture. This beautifully produced book features more than 100 of Martin’s most desirable guitars, including customized instruments belonging to Bob Dylan, Willie Nelson, Joan Baez, Sting, Mark Knopfler, and Eric Clapton.

In Martin Guitar Masterpieces, the author Dick Boak enthusiastically and colorfully describes his experiences collaborating with musical artists in the creation of Martin’s Signature Edition guitars. The collaborations featured include instruments designed with music legends ranging from Stephen Stills, David Crosby, Paul Simon, and Johnny Cash to current artists such as Beck, Babyface and Jonny Lang.

The Martin Guitar Company is the oldest surviving maker of guitars in the world and the largest and most respected manufacturer of acoustic guitars in America. The Martin name is synonymous with the best and most desirable of any such instrument available today and has been, consistently, since the company’s inception in 1833. Based in Nazareth, Pennsylvania, the company is still family owned – C. F. Martin IV is the sixth generation – and boasts an impeccable heritage, traditional values, and matchless quality of manufacture.
